Abstract

Flexural vibrations of loaded beam subjected to mobile concentrated forces on variable elastic foundation is presented in this study. The governing fourth order partial differential equation is solved by the method of Generalized Galerkin’s method (GGM) and the closed form solutions to the cases considered are obtained. Numerical analyses are performed to investigate the effect of foundation rigidity on the deflection of the thin beam. The phenomenon of resonance is also presented and the results in plotted curves are helpful in construction and engineering designs.
