Integration of work and social life is a critical but a delicate task to manage when any individual plunges into the job life to sustain his livelihood. The balance between Work & Social life determines the job satisfaction and hence the productivity & efficiency of the individual.
The present study aims to analyze the Work life balance (WLB) index of the working professionals of India. Is Work life balance Index (WLI) dependent on Gender? Are the factors causing imbalance in WLB different for males & Females? The results prove that the WLI is low irrespective of gender. The Human Resource professionals should take this as a challenge and formulate the policies for the employees which help them strike the Work Life Balance. The trends of the flexi work time, Work from Home, Family Day at Work are few initiatives that few proactive corporate houses have implemented. The robustness of the policies reflects upon the job satisfaction of the employees and hence their productivity.
