Aim: The present study aimed at green synthesis and characterization of amla seed mediated Graphene oxide, Silver nanoparticles and Graphene oxide – Silver nanocomposite.
Materials and Methods: Amla seed extract was prepared. The filtrate was used in biosynthesis of Silver, Graphene oxide nanoparticles and GO-Ag nanocomposites. After 24 hours of incubation, the samples were measured for its maximum absorbance using UV-Visible spectrophotometry. All the samples were then heat dried to obtain the synthesized silver nanoparticles, graphene oxide nanoparticles and GO-Ag nanocomposite. Morphological characterisation was done using a high resolution Transmission electron microscope (TEM).
Results: AgNPs showed colour change from colorless to reddish brown, GO NPs showed color change from brown to black, whereas GO-Ag nanocomposite turned from black to darker intensity of black. This color change confirms the formation of their respective nanoparticles. Size and shape of nanoparticles were analysed by Transmission electron microscope (TEM) showed chain like tubular GO NPs, spherical AgNPs & chain interspersed with spherical structures in GO-Ag nanocomposite with the average size of 50 - 100 nm, 2-50 nm, 150 – 200 nm respectively.
Conclusion: Thus, we were successful in green synthesis of silver nanoparticles, graphene oxide nanoparticles and GO-Ag nanocomposites from seed extracts of Phyllanthus emblica.
