Abstract

Bilateral eyestalk ablation during the reproductively inactive period of intermoult led to a spectacular revival of
testicular activity. The destalkation induced precocious Spermatogenesis continued only for a short period. The fall in
spermatogenic avtivity observed by four weeks postoperation was not due to lack of Gonad Stimulating Hormone as
even thoracic ganglion implantation could not revive spermatogenic activity.
