Abstract

Content analysis of undergraduate LVT students' research projects was done using a check list of six concepts: research objectives, research questions/hypotheses, research design, data collection equipment, and data analysis and presentation techniques. The study included 115 final year 2009/2010 academic session undergraduate LVT students' research projects (75 from the department of Vocational and Technology Education, VTE, and 40 from the department of Science Education, Sci. Edu.). A total of 86 research projects (56 VTE and 30 Sc.Edu) were proportionately selected and examined. Only 37.20 percent of undergraduate LVT students applied the correct data analysis technique on their research project at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Nigeria, according to the report. Orientation lecturers on research proposals; similar studies should be conducted to justify the findings or otherwise of this investigation were among the study's recommendations. In addition to that the article was modified to provide an analysis on the study on direction for action based on the topic (Assessment of undergraduate LVT students’ research projects). The study hoped to provide an insight or guide to undergraduate students; supervisors in research project and public members in the academic community interested in research work for appropriate methods in writing some of the aspects (like relationship between the topic and objectives of the study) of research proposal and uses of accurate research statistics tools for data analysis.
